Case Study: Major Chemicals Corporation – Climate Division

Case Study: Major Chemicals Corporation

The customer

Our customer, a large multinational enterprise with over 8,000 employees across more than 20 locations worldwide, specialises in providing chemicals for the transport, industrial and consumer markets.

The Tidyco Climate division has recently carried out work at their European Development and Research Centre in Derbyshire. This facility is part of their additives division, which supplies chemicals to the transportation industry, including additives for engine oils, fuels and other chemicals, and industrial lubricants. Aside from that, this particular plant focusses on research, testing and development.

The requirements

On this occasion, the customer had a specific requirement for very accurate temperature control. Prior to Tidyco undertaking the project, the facility operated three Daikin condensers, of which one was beyond repair and the remaining two were starting to show signs of aging and becoming increasingly more unreliable and more expensive to maintain.

The solution

Our Tidyco Climate team of engineers specified three high efficiency Airedale BluCube™ units to replace the old and outdated ones along with variable scroll compressors and duty rotation control. Overall, this system provided a total of 48kW of cooling. In addition to this, it was all engineered into their BMS controls in order facilitate the integration of the installation.
