Tidyco x Stable View – a climate division success story

The customer

Stable View is a café and restaurant with a large events venue, located on the outskirts of Derby overlooking miles and miles of verdant countryside. The company, run by Joanne Manning and Katherine Pryor, has been meticulously renovated to offer customers a pleasant and memorable experience. The building is split into two generously apportioned spaces; the café and restaurant area and the equally, if not larger, sized double-height function room, which includes a mezzanine floor. This case study focuses on the function room.

David Hithersay, divisional director for Climate, managed this project over a number of weeks with the support of his HVAC engineers.

The requirements

Stable View approached us with the task of designing a HVAC system that could heat and cool a vast space appropriately. They chose to work with Tidyco as we could provide a suitably cost effective solution.

Initially the function room was heated (and cooled) with bulky, mobile units. They were not fit for purpose as they did not adequately heat the room but were also unsightly, particularly when the room was in use.

The solution

In order to fulfil the requirements, Tidyco installed two 14kW Samsung 360 cassettes. There were a number of benefits to using this particular model. The 360 cassettes are not only stylish; they also fit seamlessly into the environment. Its unique bladeless design disperses ambient air throughout the whole room leaving the occupants feeling calm and comfortable. In addition, it is an easy to use system.

One issue that became apparent was that there were problematic, unventilated spaces, due to the mezzanine floor and high bay area, therefor additional equipment was needed. To overcome this, destratification fans were strategically installed in order to distribute heated and cooled air appropriately.

Tidyco added value, as we were able to provide a reliable heat pump air conditioning system that was practical as well as stylish, providing a comfortable environment on both levels for customers and staff.
