Case study: One Year Later—Lasting Comfort and Long-term Savings with Our LPG Heater Installation

The company

Our customer featured in this case study is a material-handling manufacturer located in Derbyshire. In this article, we will explore a Climate division installation, which we completed 12 months ago. We will discuss the type of equipment installed and how the customer has benefited since.

The requirements

After a recent expansion that significantly increased the warehouse’s footprint, doubling its original size, the limitations of the existing portable plug-in hot air blowers became apparent. These temporary heating units could no longer effectively warm the enlarged space, making it clear that a more robust and permanent solution was essential to maintain suitable working conditions. Given the warehouse’s off-grid location, implementing the new system also required substantial infrastructure upgrades and extensive preparatory work to ensure reliable performance and energy support for the installation.

The solution

Our Climate team took on the installation of two Powrmatic LX40 heating units, which were powered by LPG due to the lack of direct access to a natural gas supply. However, with no existing infrastructure to support this setup, we also needed to install an LPG gas tank and the corresponding network of pipework. This pipework required careful channelling throughout various sections of the building to ensure efficient and safe distribution of fuel.

We brought added value to this project by managing every detail of the installation from start to finish. With the help of Avantigas, they supplied the gas tank and helped us to source the best location for it. Our team then coordinated all additional aspects, including the groundwork for the LPG tank, which involved preparing a solid foundation and the assembly of the steel barrier. This foundation required a substantial concrete base to securely hold the above-ground gas tank, ensuring a durable and stable setup for the client’s heating needs..

One year later, the advantages of the new heating system are evident throughout the company. Employees working in the expanded warehouse now enjoy a consistently warm and comfortable environment, which has positively impacted their day-to-day experience and overall morale. The efficient new system has not only improved working conditions but has also proven to be more cost-effective; the operational costs are notably lower than those of the previous portable heaters. This reduction in expenses has delivered financial benefits to the company, allowing resources to be allocated more efficiently. The investment in a more permanent, reliable heating solution has thus provided lasting value across multiple areas of the business.
